    Leaking Gamecube controller

After clearing out our loft last week to make room for more junk up to chuck up there I found an old GC pad of mine which I had relegated up there for some apparent reason.
I seem to remember the control stick had a bit of "wandering" about it but after trying it out today it seems to work fine only it seems to be leaking a sticky fluid...
What could that be? Some sort of lube to keep the innards working properly?

I would say that's right, a lubricant. In the N64 controllers they put it inside the analog stick casing:

Did it get plugged into Wii?

5 years on and the Wii jokes still hanse their uses

Ah I guess it could be that this analogue casing has a crack in it then. As it's the spare pad I may as well take it apart and have a look see if it's fixable.

It was plugged into the Wii...it creamed itself to Sonic.

I tried googling this "leaky pad" problem and got responses about women on their period. Ewwwwwwwwww.

There's no analogue casing in GC pads.
