xbox 360 profiles question

I have an profile already setup on my 360 which i have completed a few games and got the achievements etc.

anyway I have never bothered with live but recently signed up for an account through the profile i had already and its created another profile.

is there anyway to combine the two or will i have to, for any future games i buy just use the other profile which has live on it ?

I don't think it's possible to merge an offline account with an online account. The only thing I can recommend is getting a gold membership subscription for your offline account which will change it to an online account.

thank you for your reply, i've made my offline profile xbox liveable now which I thought would have been easy to do from the start but isn't.

going into marketplace from the dashboard, redeem code and then doing a live account worked.
