    Cheapo 40" TV in Sainsburys

Was in today shopping...yawn, and saw this:

Does anyone have any experience of these sets, they seem to get good reviews on the Sainsbury's website, but I just can't see them being great for gaming, they seem too good to be true for the price. I know they are missing some bells and whistles but, well, I dunno :P

The panel is probably manufactured by Samsung, as they are the only ones I know of that makes 40" inches. I imagine it's weaknesses are poor light uniformity and maybe sub-standard black level. Can't see it having lot's of picture processing going on, so its response level should be decent for gaming.

Yeah, many people seem to be happy with it in the reviews, but no one mentions gaming.

Hmm, seems they are made in Slovakia, same as Logik, UMC.

For an extra 'ton' you could get this 50".

No idea if it's good for gaming, but its 50"!!

You can get the samsung 40" c530 for not much more......extremely low input lag and a superb image. In fact i will go as far as to say its the best "budget" tv i have ever bought. Its also worth mentioning that(while i was probably just lucky) its the first lcd i have had which has been totally even in the backlighting to the naked eye, and in a dark room.

In fact it was bought as a stop gap until the g30 panny plasma came out, however so impressed was i by the quality of the screen in all respects, that the panny was never bought. Thats the highest praise i can give. It will end up in the games room, but for the money nothing comes close imo.

You'd probably be better off getting a slightly smaller but higher quality set for the same price. SD inputs will suffer in particular on a cheap set.
