n64 rgb mod booster info?

Although I haven't done too much experimentation with svid on the N64, I'm not sure if I agree. My TV displays svideo very well (GC svid picture is almost as good as RGB) but the N64 svid signal is dire. As for the cables, surely an svid cable is the same regardless of region?

I bought a US s-vid cable and it works fine on my PAL N64. The colours are a bit darker than composite though, but the image is so much sharper. The s-vid doesn't work well on my PAL SNES though...

So, is there a difference between PAL/NTSC s-video cables?
(I doubt I got a PAL one from the US for my N64, but as I said, it works fine)
