Are there any benefits to upgrading PSP2000 to a 3000 model?

    Anyone know the anwser?

A better screen? How much better?

Is it easier to mod, considering I use my PSP mostly for emulators?

Can anyone break down the benefits? Please?

Note: I don't like the layout of the PSPGo.

The 3000 handles colours much better and has less ghosting on screen, in comparison the 2000 looks a little washed out, when I had one the d-pad also felt a bit better as it was slightly raised, I wouldn't say it was essential to upgrade from a 2000 but the improved screen and controls are a nice bonus.

The screens below show how much better the colour depth and contrast is on the 3000, a load more comparison shots from the same guy who took the SOTN pics can be found here

Don't know about modding a 3000 but i'd imagine it would be no harder to do than the other models, what with the recent PSP developments of signing apps and firmwares etc.

Couldn't stand the interalacing on 3000. Urgh.

          Thanks guys,

the colours look a lot better on the 3000.

FSW, does the 2000 not suffer from those issues?

Nope. Neither does the psp go although I do wonder whether the smaller screen on the go simply hides the problem. On the 3000 it was unbearable. Mind you I also see ghosting in 3d movies and green trails on plasma tvs so my eyes are sensitive to stuff like this. You might not notice it at all yourself.
