    360 Slim reliability?

My old school 360 died Friday, and after trying to get it fixed and failing i was looking at getting one of the newer models. Question is are they any better than the old machines for reliability? (freezing, red ring and so on)

Seems shopto are the best bet at the moment with a 250g going for ?159, but im worried that if it gos wrong ill have the hassle of shipping it back to them etc. So maybe i should play it safe and just buy one from a local store (?190 in Game though, ouch)

Also would my old component cable work ok with the slim?

Yeah the old cables still fit, I think the major 360 issues of the past are long solved.

      New 360's should be fine.

There was an issue with earlier models having dodgy HDMI ports, but I think that's been sorted now.

I was under the impression from other comments on here that they were still unreliable, just not as bad as the older models?

My friend has had that dodgy HDMI port model. He got a replacement at CeX and the one he now has won't sync his controllers. lol

          No problems with my Jasper.~

This bargain might be good for you.

You can get it delivered to your nearest Tesco Direct for collection free of charge.

I upgraded to one of these in January and it's an excellent machine - exceedingly quiet in comparison to the original model and it feels like a premium device.

Hah! Just got one of these on the tesco deal, ?5 next day delivery. Astounding difference in noise output.

Just bought a slim from tesco as well.

ALMOST feels like a new console, love the touch sensitive buttons on the front, so much so that I no longer use the controller to boot it up!

One big problem I have though is that it gives off a **** load of heat, I'm sure the fan does a good job of repelling it, but after being on for 5-10 minutes, the top of the machine feels like a sauna.
