Seeing as i use my PC on my main TV in the bedroom, I watch alot of videos and blu-rays on it. What I have always wondered is what should I enable or set in the video settings. At the moment i have everything disabled or on default, there's just so many of them. Do they really matter to get the best quality picture and is there a recommended setup to get the most out of it?

There's no real reason to turn it off if it's working fine. Gives you a few extra colour/brightness/deinterlacing controls that are generally much easier to configure than in a video players (plus they have the advantage of being universal for every video player). Takes a massive load off the CPU, especially weaker CPUs without putting much pressure on the CPU, can result in less fan noise.
You can still fiddle around with custom renderers in stuff like Zoom player and MPC HC to use a better quality one which can noticably improve the quality of visuals (I believe EVR is the current best renderer to use).
