    Strange PC Power Situation

My computer has a strange habit of not switching on when pressing the front power button first thing in the morning, or whenever I first use it after several hours of it being off.

Every time I finish using it, I always power it down, switch it off at the back then disconnect it from the mains supply so no power is running at all.
Whenever I go to use it again I reconnect it to the mains supply and it takes about a minute before pressing the power button has any effect.

Once the power is on there isn't a problem. Games run fine, video works fine, for long hours it works fine.
It's kind of like it needs to prime, or charge it's self before allowing itself to switch on...

Any ideas what it could be?

"Slow" PSU? Try to leave the PC plugged to the main one night to see how it boots up in the morning.

Could be a capacitor related issue or it could be a bad contact or solder that needs the PC to be warm. Bit hard to know really

Actually I forgot to mention something. If I leave the mains on but switch the PC off over night, then go to turn it on in the morning I usually get a failed boot screen or a BSOD after the OS has loaded.

I'd guess the PSU is on the way out then.

Get something like speed fan and see how far out the voltages are.

Has speed fan EVER been good for anything? I find all it's measurements are hugely off.

HWMonitor is a better program, and even then you can just check in the BIOS.
