Gaming over wireless connections - issues?

    Hi,

I'm thinking of getting the Netgear DG824 wireless router/modem and using it to share my connection to a PC (via a wireless NIC) and my Xbox (via an ethernet wireless bridge) but i have a question:

Will i see an increase in latency and packet loss going over wireless instead of a wired connection? I currently ping 15~40ms with 0% loss depending on game and servers, will this increase with a wireless connection?

If not i'll get the wireless kit.

I didn't notice any difference but I think it's quite sensitive to network link quality, as it can have to re-send loads of stuff.

I have that router, add's 2-3ms, bandwith is about 6mbit. On non wireless operation its 100mbit, no increased latency.
Its been very good tho, just remember to update it to the latest firmware to stop the weird overflow timeout bug (i.e. ping an ip too many times in the space of a few seconds and it cuts that link for 10 seconds or so)
