    PS2 + xrgb?

Just wondering what the best set-up is for a PS2 on an LCD tv?

    RGB > xrgb-3 > TV

    or

    Component > TV

Is there anything to be gained in pq by using the xrgb or am I just as well going direct into the TV via component?

IMO the PS2 is the console that benefits the least from the XRGB, but is definitely better than without.
For the sharpest image possible, go B0 over DVI. B1 over VGA is a little softer, but properly configured scanlines do make the image feel a closer to B0.

      Thanks dude, that's really helpful.

I've only got a VGA connection to my TV so will give B1 a whirl.

What's the best PS2 output/cable option to go into the xrgb: RGB or component?

Never tested, mostly because I no longer play with the PS2 that much. Probably component has a slight advantage over RGB, but knowing how temperamental the XRGB-3 can be with RGB connections I'd stick with component, which doesn't require any particular setting.

          Again, really helpful. Cheers

RGB -> TV. Can use XRGB-3 if you like I guess, no real point with 480i though.

            I guess I use my PS2 mostly for PS1 games though. (240p)
