Copying music from iPod Touch to Mac

Hello!

iPod Touches have been out for yonks now, but it still seems harder than it needs to be to get music off the darn thing.

Can anyone recommend some good software to transfer all of the music, playlists and album art, etc. that I have on my iPod Touch (preferably first-hand experience with it rather than word of mouth), bearing in mind that an external HDD malfunction caused me to lose a load of music a couple of years back. I've been unable to sync my iPod Touch to iTunes ever since due to the lunacy of having it attempting to sync with nothing and wiping everything off the iPod Touch itself.

It's only a matter of time before my iPod Touch carks it, and I want to be sure to have grabbed my music collection off it before that happens.

The software needs to be Mac-compatible please. Many thanks!

I've used software called Touch Copy from Wide Angle Software before, was spot on.
