    XIII - the demo

    hi,
the demo has been out a while now and was just wondering what you guys think of it?
i think that it's going to be a good game to play on multiplayer but the single player wasn't that good infact i got quite boored playing it .
anyway if you haven't downloaded it then you can get it from here-CLICK
theres a multi player demo(needs patching) and a single player demo

I only tried the multiplayer demo, and it was really fun to play.

I liked it, I don't do multiplayer so I can only speak of my experience with the single player, while the first 'beach' level was a bit vapid I found the military base to be quite tense and well paced - with choosing a stealthy approach being far more difficult than mowing everyone down but ultimatly more rewarding.

It's prob the first FPS in which I've felt very vulnerable in firefights, going up against machine-gun wielding goons in the military base after a hand-grenade has blown up a short distance away from you ( wiping out your hearing ) was a nice moment - not to mention rapelling through that electric shaft and landing on the guard beneath. Will prob give the XBox version a try, as my P.C struggled a bit with the demo.

I have played both the SP & MP demos available for the PC and felt significantly underwhelmed from the experience of both. It feels like a distinctly average game underneath the admitedly glorious graphics and style.

Single player felt much to restricted and linear, some of the weapons felt a little flimsy and the AI was fine (but fine isn't good enough anymore).

The multiplayer was the worst element, which jaded over simplistic level deisgn and crappy AI for the bots. Very poor.

So not a game I'll be picking up, and a game I feel which will pick up a variety of average reviews.
