Hi,
I have recently had my UK PS2 Chipped with a magic 3.1 and i'm a little disapointed with some of the performance.
1) On US PS2 games the games arn't quite full screen, they have slight borders ( not as bad as big 'devil may cry' PAL borders ), but borders all the same. A PAL PS2 game with a 60hz mode will fill the screen ( yes even games like 'sky odysee' that uses NTSC 60hz ), but not a US game on the UK PS2. The TV is definately in it's 60hz mode when the US PS2 games boots, so what gives????? Why the crap borders?
2) US PS1 games are unplayable, stupid thing shifts the screen about 5 inches up, leaving a horrible giant border at the bottom, and cutting off _loads_ of the top of the screen.
I never had any border/screen moving problems with my chipped original Playstation, or any other 60hz games, so is it all the fault of the Magic 3.1?????
Anyone know if something better like a DMS chip suffers from similar problems or knows more about this situation????
