Jumpijng out of game to desktop

Hi,

This happens on all my games. I'll be playing for, well, ,might be half an hour, might be a couple of hours and then my PC will jump out to the desktop. There are no notifications on the desktop or anything so reason I can see that it would do it. Any idea what might be the problem? To clarify, the games don't crash. I can alt-tab back into them fine. I *think* that in all cases I have steam running when this happens.

I'd guess that another app is taking focus away. You use any all-in-one internet security packages or the like?

Microsoft Security Essentials. Just taken a look to see if there are any options that might be causing it but I can't see anything.

Any other background apps? The behaviour you describe usually is the result of another app trying to take focus, that's all. Also, if you're using windows firewall, try unticking the 'notify me about blocked programs' box.
