    PC Start Up problem

    Hi guys,

Hoping someone on here can help with a problem that has just occurred.

I just turned my PC on and the monitor doesn't display anything. One of the fans also goes berserk.

After browsing some forums I opened it up and tried the simple fix of replacing the battery. This did nothing but it did start making two beeps on start up. I then tried removing and reseating the RAM, no joy. I then removed the graphics card and it still beeps twice but the fan doesn't go berserk.

This is a Dell machine (not under warranty) and the fan that goes mental is the one that sits in a black casing on top of the motherboard.

Anyone have any idea what's wrong? It is beginning to look like it is the motherboard but just want to get some kind of confirmation before I go ordering a new one.

    Cheers!

The beeps have gone after fiddling with the RAM again and the number lights on the front light up 1, 2 + 3 as green, which according to Dell's diagnostics mean some random error has occurred.
