PAL XBox games and prog scan

Slowly looking into eventually getting an XBox and I'm planning to fit it with all possible mods and chips and bits, and one of the main things I'd like is VGA output. It seems you can't have VGA unless the game in question supports prog scan, and while nearly all US games support prog scan it seems many (most?) PAL games don't, so I suppose I'll be doing a fair bit of importing. I could really use a list of PAL games that support and don't support prog scan though, so I'd know which games to get the US version of. Does anyone have one?

    Thanks

You need to trick your PAL Xbox into outputting NTSC instead of PAL by default which needs a special disc which needs a modchip.

Don't confuse this with changing the actual region of your machine.

Once this is set up you need to enable progressive scan video options in the menu.

I know this isn't *strictly* what you're asking about but I'm telling you cos that what I've done and I think most pal games work fine.

Recent ones I've tried are MotoGP2, Ghost Recon: Island Thunder and Otogi.

I think the only ones you need to keep an eye on are some older launch titles.

      hi,

valken was absolutely right. make sure that you xbox output is NTSC, you need a VGA adapter for connection to your monitor and the best one can be found here.

playing PAL games would be a breeze if you have these even if you play PAL games that don't support prog scan. i have a chipped US xbox with NTSC video output and using the X2VGA adaptor, i noticed that when playing PAL games, the picture on my monitor is a little darker than NTSC games. but no complains apart from that...
