Biohazard Revival Selection PS3 Code Veronica Aspect Ratio?

Hmm, Code Veronia is supposed to be in 4:3 o'vision correct? Its playing on my ps3 in a stretched faux widescreen with no in game option to switch to 4:3. I can't set my tv to display 4:3 when playing ps3 games and the ps3 itself doesn't seem to have an option to switch aspect ratios for games either unless I'm missing something? Please advise.

Can anyone clarify that the game runs at 4:3 stretched to 16:9? I was tempted to buy this at some point, but I'm absolutely not interested if it's not true 16:9 - may as well just play my Dreamcast version.

Yes it's in stretched 16:9 on psn, you cannot change to 4:3. I did discover the answer to my own question after a bit of googling. If its any consolation to you it actually looks not too bad.

I know you probably won't want to do this, but is it because your telly doesn't let you change the screen ratio when playing HD stuff? My telly won't let me change the ratio when playing 720p stuff but it will for 480p. Maybe you could set your PS3 to 480p and see if you can set 4:3 mode that way.

Of course, setting it to 480p makes the HD bit redundant(and is a hassle to keep switching) but I'd do it like that if I found myself with a game like that on PS3 and had neither the time nor motivation to break out the Dreamcast.

I'd say it's worth a shot, then at least you'll know in case you find yourself in a similar situation with another game. You never know...

It's not HDTV's forcing it into 16:9 Capcom have reprogrammed it into some kinda 'smart' faux 'widescreen' ratio, instead of doing it properly. It looks okay IMO, it's not like Clare and teh undead are all short and fat! Capcom have done *something? to the image beyond just stretching it.

*something half assed as sadly seems to be par the course for Capcom nowerdays.

What I mean is it would then go back to 4:3 ratio and look right. Try setting your PS3 to 480p/576p and see if you can change the telly's ratio with the button.

All they've done is tell it to stretch the screen in software which would be more hassle than 4:3 so it was probably to stop people complaining about the side-borders

Capcom seem to struggle with the whole 'rendering in widescreen' thing. I gather than Resident Evil 4 HD port is still just a zoomed-in letterbox?
