Fighting sticks compatible with PS2 games on a PS3

I have a NTSC-J 60gb PS3 and have a ton of 2D fighting games but have never been able to find a stick that works with them. Was told Hori sticks are the only ones that do and picked up this:

Still no luck.

Anyone know of any sticks that do work or is it a lost cause....?

Hori Real Arcade Pro 3
SEGA Virtua Stick High Grade

Both of those definitely work with PS2 games.

Weird. I've used that Hori v3 with a back compat UK PS3 and PS2 fighting games e.g. SF2 did work with it.

I've heard that it does, checked on the hori site and it says "not guaranteed to work with ps2 games."I'm wondering if it only works with PS3s that emulate PS2 games, and not the ones that have the hardware built like 60gb PS3?

Also I heard that recent firmware updates had stuff in to block some (fake) 3rd party controllers so it's possible that they did work in the past but no longer. Currently i use a PS2 Namco stick with a PS2->USB adapter. Works fine on PS3 and PS1 games but my PS3 won't play PS2 titles so can't check that out. Might be worth investigating though?

Incidentally, my Nuby PS2 Soul Calibur 2 stick disappointingly doesn't work

For what it's worth Street Fighter anniversary pads work on PS2 games played on a PS3. SF4 fight pads don't work which is a shame as they are better imo.
