Sound cutting out

Has anyone any idea why my sound might be cutting in and out? I have noticed it at high levels when in a big gun fights in Mass Effect 3, for example the end battle (this was on the XBOX360). I am running my HDMI into a ONKYO amp then to a modern HD tv. It seems fine usually but when there is a lot of action/noise the sound cuts in and out really fast.

Any pointers as to what it might be would be great.

Tight kink in HDMI cable from Xbox to Amp might squeeze the bandwidth the cable can transmit.

That's all I can think off.

Yeah I checked that thanks, hmm, I will see if I got the polarity swapped round by mistake or something.

You got another HDMI source you can use with the same cable? Like a blu ray with a massive action scene?

Seems it was ME3, had a word with my mate and he said it does it on his as well....
