Will Konamis bemani-games work on a modded PS2?

Currently I'm planning to either buy me a japanese Playstation 2 in a month or two or simply have a friend mod my Pal PS2.
The thing is, I want to play Pop'n Music, Beatmania, Drummania and Keyboard Mania and I do recall hearing something about those games not working on modded units. Is that true?
Also, could someone here tell me where I might find a Pop'n Music-controller for Playstation/Playstation 2.

The games will run, but they'll be out of sync. You'll need an NTSC console.

I thought this was only an issue on PS1. From what I've been told, all PS2 Bemani games are fine, although I haven't tested any myself yet (plan to get DDR Extreme soon).

Naiera: I'm not doubting you or anything... but why? Wouldn't this apply to all NTSC games in that case? I thought you had your assed covered with a modded pal machine.. Does anyone know why they run out of sync?
          *curious*

Don't think it's anything to do with NTSC/PAL issues. I've used PAL Dancing Stage: Party Edition on a PAL Chipped PS2 and the sync issues still occur.

It's bad programming on Konami's side. Of course it's the PAL/NTSC thing that causes the sync problems. The music somehow finds a way to run at 50Hz while the picture runs at 60Hz, I guess.

Erm, read my post again. I've run a PAL Dancing Stage game on a PAL (but modded) PS2 and the sync problem still occurs. How can it be an NTSC/PAL thing if that's the case? In that scenario NTSC has nothing to do with it.

Its could be a chip problem. I've seen various threads related to 'clock degradation' and how to avoid it when chipping. Maybe?

Surely this would affect all games though?

I have a Jap SCPH-10000 series Origa-modded PS2 running PAL Dacing Stage Party Edition and it works in sync.

The game probably "saw" the chip and ran the music in 60Hz...
