    Worms 3D........one dimension too far?

I have always enjoyed the worms games, even back in the day of the first release. When I used to share a house with Babelrich from these forums, we both got, frankly, ****ing world class at worms.

So I ran out of my local Game clicking my heels in anticipation with my copy of Worms 3D under my arm. got home, installed, and...erm...well, thats where it all went wrong.

After an hours play I turned it off, I couldnt be bothered. The reason? well, apart from the fact that I believe games like this (and lemmings also, as another fine example) should remain 2D, and that the addition of another dimension does nought but dilute the experience. The main reason I couldnt be bothered is because, tbh, I was ****e at it.

Is it just me or does anyone else think that games of this ilk (admittedly, there arent many) should stay as 2D games? and furthermore, if anyone else went and bought it, are you having the same problems getting used to the game as I am?

The problem with 3D games like Worms is the fact there is no depth perseption. Makes it a hell of a lot harder to play. I was almost going to buy it while in town this morning but I didn't and maybe its for the best.

I recon it probably should have stayed 2D but there was really no place else to go with Worms as it was. I recon some people might love it and some people might hate it.

I agree, it is virtually impossible to judge distances in this version. In the old 2D ones I could use the wind to a massive advantage for some amazing shots, but now I can barely reach the other side of the map.

It is still fun on multiplayer however. The magic is still there, but it has been diluted somewhat.

I found it really fun when i played it with some mates at the weekend. The single players always been crap imo.

Worms 2 is one of my favourite games of all time. I spent a good 100 hours 'roping' and kicking ass online. It was one of the best experiences, and even better because was one of the few games I can play online.

Brilliant fun, wicked game. I loved single player as well which is quite parculiar. I completed single player of Worms 2 and Worms United and another one I can't remember... Brilliant stuff!

I'm going to get Worms 3D in a couple of months when it is cheaper and I'm going to play it... a lot! I hope that with practice in time I'll be able to judge distances and stuff like that... It'll be interesting...

Since when was a bit of a challenge a problem, hey?
