Best way to run a PC Engine on an LCD TV?

I don't really want to buy an XRGB just for one console. Is there a cheaper alternative out there? I'd like it to display full screen, but with scanlines.
    Kept you waiting, huh?

Mmmonkey does guides on how to make a cheap alternative, I have one he made and it's excellent. I think he's a bit tied up to be making one at the moment, but i'm sure you're pretty handy with a soldering iron i've read in the past D.

That looks about right Colin. Is VGA the only connection possible? I'd ideally like to go from RGB to HDMI.

I've just been looking at the instruction manual for my amp, and it has a built-in upscaler if I use composite (which TBH the PCE outputs pretty decent IMO), so I could in theory just use that, though I doubt I'd get scanlines of course.

Give Pete (mmmonkey) a shout mate, he's a bit of a whizz with all this stuff and may be able to recommend an HDMI route.

Funny timing. I've had an tiny VGA to HDMI converter in my eBay watch list for a few weeks which I was going to try out with my upscaler as soon as I had the cash. I got the cash, and then blew it on Romero movies instead.

If I try it out, I'll give you a shout :-) won't be for a little while though, got too much other stuff happening at the mo
