    Motherboard POST

Just built a new PC. The motherboard I have is the Gigabyte Guerilla G1. The problem I am having is that I dont hear any beeps in regards to its POST. Ive scoured the manual for both the board and the case and Im having no luck with it at all. Can anyone help me regards this? Should I even be hearing a beep at all? the PC starts up just fine but its a niggle and Im no happy that Ive assembled properly.

Also the card I have installed is a Saphire Radeon HD7870 with supposedly 2gb of ram however dxdiag shows that it only has 1768... is that normal?

I'd just say that the board has no beep confirmation like older boards had.

I wouldn't trust dxdiag much...it says I've got 2278 Mb on my FirePro 8800 (should be 2048, or 2GB). What does the CCC says?

About the beep: my EX58-UD5 beeps at startup, but maybe not beeping it's something newer motherboards don't do. Check the speaker connector on the motherboard and the BIOS, maybe the beep option is hidden somewhere not mentioned in the manual.

The last motherboard I used that beeps at post was an AMD based socket 754 board..

The troubleshooting part of the manual goes into detail on the error beeps and what they mean.. I cant see a cable that connects to the motherboard from the case to make that happen from the case side.

CCC does display the correct amount of memory thankfully.. was getting worried id been given the wrong card.

Thanks for the replies folks, its much appreciated
