Vf5 was working fine. Just come back to it and now it's hanging on the "now loading" screen. Second time this has happened now. I had to delete all the data last time. Anyone else had this? (how many here still playing vf5!?).

i get crashes/freezes occassionally too - i wouldnt worry just restart it a few times if necessary -
That doesn't work though whereas a delete install files followed by a reinstall does. But only temporarily. No trouble on any other game. I've got a 600 odd gig drive in there. I wonder if that's causing it.

If you don't want to find out if it's dodgy by doing a full format, maybe you could plug the hard drive into a PC, use the Ultimate Boot CD and run a scan? You might be able to tell by the hard drive light when it crashes while loading. If it keeps blinking at regular intervals, it could mean it's trying to read the same spot.
Alternatively, if you wanted to test whether the issue is affecting a particular part of the hard drive, why not try deleting the install files, installing another game(ideally one bigger than VF5) and then reinstalling VF5, which would hopefully put the files in a different location on the drive? Or, if you can't/don't want to install another game, you could just delete the VF5 data then copy a bunch of films, photos or similar media from your PC to the PS3, then reinstall VF5.Comment

Good ideas. Cheers. Although, after it has installed it then works and stays working for a little bit (a few days maybe) before failing again. Still worth a go though. Will report back.Comment
