I'm importing a famicom and I need a step down converter. I bought one, 45w. On the box is says: "this converter converts a 220-240VAC main outlet to a 110VAC NEMA 1-15R outlet." Which wikipedia tells me is an american system. Will this kill my famicom? I assume the famicom needs 100v. I know little about electricity, please help.

You can run a Famicom with a UK Mega Drive 1 PSU. The difference between 100v and 110v is minor, so you'll be OK with that step-down too.Kept you waiting, huh? -
Can I also use a non-UK Mega Drive 1 PSU? I don't live in the UK.
I've read that using japanese power supplies on US current will likely reduce their life span. But is that also true with these 110v stepdown converters? I mean it says on the box that it turns a European outlet into an American one.Comment
