This PSU for a Duo?
06-05-2012, 20:31
I've just bought this PSU on eBay for my Duo. The specs don't quite match so I just want to check it's ok to use.
Error page | eBay
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UK-Psu-Ac-Adaptor-4-Pc-engine-DUO-Super-CD-ROM2-3-1mm-/190515958262
The specs on the PSU:
+9v
2A
The required specs according to the web:
DC10v
1000 ma
Polarity seems to be correct.
Can anyone tell me if it's ok to use?
Thanks

The only issue might be that the voltage doesn't match exactly. In should work fine though.

Yep. MD1 PSU powers all PCE hardware.
Kept you waiting, huh?

I'm 99% sure that the connector on the original Duo is larger than that of a Mega Drive psu.

Thanks for the replies.
You can't use an MD PSU. The Duo connector is a 3.1mm plug. Bigger than the one on an MD.
I've started using the PSU and it seems fine. Cheers

Yeah the Super CD Rom2 spec machines use that slightly bigger size connector, had nightmares getting one out of Raven Games in the 90's when they failed to ship one with my xmas present, assholes.

Yeah that's right, I had a small adapter thing on the end of the MD plug. I've still got a few knocking about somewhere should anybody need one.
Kept you waiting, huh?
