NTSC XBox + PAL DVDs

Okay, is it possible to get my Jpn XBox to play PAL DVDs and if so, how?

Is it chipped? if so you can just install dvdx2 and it'll play all region dvd's without a dongle.

About to get it chipped. Won't be able to install dvdx2 myself though because of lack of a PC.

Not necessarily, if you can get a hold of the Slayers evo-x install disc that will install it for you.

I believed Slayers was discontinued? Hmm.. maybe it's not then but there is a very good alternative SuperDisc, altough not really official but it's "leaked" by a swedish chipping company. It's VERY updated with all the latest utils and emulators. I would recommend that one actually...

No need to get it chipped just buy the PAL remote and it plays PAL DVDs. I have a JAP xbox and play all my PAL dvds this way. It won't play Japanese ones though, I think it will only play DVDs from the same region as the remote and reciever.

Okay, I'll see if there's a chance that I can get DVDx2 installed along with the chip.
The thing about the DVD dongle automatically selecting the region isn't true then?

Do you know where I can get slater 2.5? I have chipped my xbox (with a Chamelon) but can't get past the insert CD stage, ever CD that i have burned slayer on have tried has been rejected.

for DVD playback there is no need to chip the xbox. I have been watching PAL DVDs for over a year using my JAP xbox and PAL remote. I only chipped this week.

More than likely your Xbox won't be able to read cd'rs. Only machines with a Samsung drive will read cd'rs. You'll have to use a dvd-r.

Playback of PAL DVDs on an NTSC Xbox is a bit jerky (tried it with a region free PAL disc on my US Xbox)

The Xbox will also read CD-RW, so burn it onto that.
