    Scrapping Laptops & Desktops

    Hi guys,

Got 2 old & dead Laptops & 1 very tired Desktop that I just want to dump.

I've removed the Hard Drives from them & will be using them with caddies as external storage but just wondered if there was anything else I should do before they end up in my skip at work??

    Ta,

    Neil

Why not see if somebody else wants the parts?

There are loads of companies near you that recycle computers.

Give these people a call and see if they want your leftovers.

See if the DVD drives are Wii disc compatible. People will be happy to buy them off you on teh Bay.

Ive got two dead ones here that I'm going to stick on eBay. When I was considering repairing mine I did think about buying one on eBay for parts, so it's probably worth a try!

At a car boot we managed to sell 2 Panasonic laptops from 1996 for ?6 they did work though, but had no hard drives.

Good shout on the recycling. Doing the same here, but make sure your hard-drives are completely destroyed these days as there are many horror stories of data being retrieved by data enthusiasts after a cheap sale on ebay.

Thanks for that QC...didn't know things like this existed.
            Will definitely look into them.

So basically as long as the HDD isn't left behind then there shouldn't be any issues??

            Thanks again
