    PDA buying advice

Hi, my casio E105 pda has finally broken after a few years of heavy use and so am looking to replace it with a more modern pda. I ideally want a pocket pc that will not cost over ?300 and will have blue tooth, I've seen some ipaqs which look promising but there seems to be quite a lot of different versions about, and I don't really know which are best, most seem to have either a 200mhz processor or a 400mhz intel one, will this make much difference? (I intend to run divx movies on it). I've also seen some dell axims about, how good are these in relation to ipaqs? I haven't really kept upto date in the world of pda's so any advice would be most helpful, thanks.

    - -Not really answering you question on standard pda's, but might be worth a look for you if you're interested.- -

Have you seen the SPV E200? Its a mobile phone with pda functions. It uses the Microsoft smartphone operating system and it can surf the web, email, play audio and video files, edit word files and also supports messenger (msn, icq, yahoo, etc).

I have a pda (clie) and have just got this, now my standard pda is starting to look a little redundant.

It possibly wouldn't be right for you because it has a smaller screen (176x220), so not amazing for watching divx videos. But still might be worth a look.

Clie TG-50. They are now as low as 200 quid, and have MP3, bluetooth video, very nice colour screen and its thin and light.

He wants a Pocket PC and you recommend a Palm. You'll be recommending Linux on his desktop next.

I've got one of the earlier iPaqs with Bluetooth. A 3870. Its fine as PDAs go. But the Bluetooth stack has an annoying habit of crashing necessating a restart. Don't know if this is an OS issue or fixed on later models. But might be worth checking out before you buy as it is annoying.
