The Samsung F3 1TB seem to be one of the fastest HDDs there is anyway.

I've had an 80gb agility 3 for about a year, it died once and had to be replaced. The problem seems to be with updating the firmware whilst your O/S is on it, so make sure you update firmware before copying everything over.
I've also had problems if the drive gets anywhere near full, so I try to keep about 8gb free.
Also I use mklink : http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/...er-steam-games to create shortcuts in the file system where a real shortcut won't work and make sure any torrents are moved onto the other drive on completion

Finally got the courage (120gb Intel 330 ?55 on Amazon today 0_o ) to buy one, now then.
Im not going to migrate my OS etc because that sounds a terrible idea, is this going to be as easy as plugging it in, setting the sata mode to AHCI, then installing Win 7 as standard?
When I reconnect my mecahnical drive, how can I be sure the PC will boot from the SSD and not that drive?
Cheers

If you connect the SSD to the first SATA port available (if your motherboard has an extra SATA controller you'll want to use the SATA port connected directly to the chipset) you can already connect the HDD to an other SATA port, boot from Win7's disc and install the OS on the new drive without having to meddle with your PC's innards twice.

Still think I might get a Samsung when the 256gb ones are cheaper but this should be fine when I do my build and then might go in the girlfriends laptop.
