Odd graphical glitches

I've had some odd graphical weirdness while browsing in FF the last few days. Some colours will go fuzzy and pixelated, with strange fuzzy lines at varying heights on the screen. Today, it turned off for a few seconds.

So far I have tried wiggling the vga cable ends at monitor and PC. It hasn't happened again yet, but it was intermittent before. I haven't tried wiggling the gfx card yet.

Does it sound like my gfx card is on the way out?

This was repeating, and I found it particularly on certain bits of certain websites. Changing it from 60Hz to 75Hz fixed it. WEIRD. Also weird because I thought it was on 75 already.
