Can anyone recommend me a good non-official S-Video cable for use with N64 / GC?

I recently bought a Japanese Gamecube and unfortunately they don't support RGB signal, so my official RGB cable isn't any use with it. At the mo I'm just using the standard composite cable, but I hate how the colours scroll, as it makes the edges of everything look nasty.

I usually go first-party on cables like this since it's the only way I can be assured it'll be the best quality. I've heard horror stores, like a lot of third-party brands just put a composite signal through an S-Video cable, or they leave a mesh-like image on the screen. However, as official S-Video cables weren't released over here they have to be imported, adding to the already pretty high cost. So, can anyone recommend me a good, relatively cheap third-party equivalent?

Just to be clear, I'm not looking for an eBay listing or for someone to sell me one anything like that - I know that would belong in a different forum. Just a brand name will be fine, I can look it up myself.

Aren't there modded rgb leads you can use on a japanese gc?

I have no idea. I've certainly never seen one, but as always that doesn't mean they don't exist.

Indeed, you can get RGB out of them. The cables can be expensive sometimes though, they have to use the digital port.

Unfortunately I've not been here long enough to use the trading forums yet, lol.

Ah, I see. Would that require using the AV cable for sound as well, then?
