Sony widescreen CRt auto format problem

Ok got a 360 and kinect connected to this for the niece and the telly auto jumps to Smart (zooming in the screen). Its linked via compo****e and in the menu i've turned off auto format.

Also ive tried the button on the remote that looks like a square with the 4 direction arrows to no avail.

We just cant see any instructions at the bottom of the screen.

Any ideas?

Is the Xbox set to the correct screen ratio?

I remember that in RGB cables there is a resistor that makes this happned sometimes, but I don't know why it would do it with composite

Definitely in widescreen and in pal 60, have checked in pal 50 as well but makes no difference.

Doing my tree in now, dont want to get an rgb lead as then i'd have to use a splitter, and try explaining that to a 7 year old, 19 year old daughter still doesnt get how a splitter works lol
