Problem with Wii E-Shop Snes games. Any idea?

Just bought the Donkey Kong SNES games from the Wii shop before they get taken down. My TV doesn't seem to like them though and displays an invalid format error trying to run them

I've also got Paper Mario 64 off the shop, but that seems to work fine. Very confused.

It's weird. I have sound and I can see the game's picture when I bring up the home menu, but as soon as I take off the home menu it vanishes again.

Edit: Seems to be working fine on my old 1080i set. Very strange. Any TV experts know what's going on? Do LG TVs not play nicely with SNES games?

Launch the game, pull up the operations guide and press Z + A +2 all at the same time.

In explanation terms, some TV sets can't handle legacy interlaced resolutions being sent to them by the NES/SNES emulation on the Wii over component cable. I think the button combination forces the output into progressive mode.
