    Upgrading to XBMP 2.4, a little help pls

    I currently run XBMP 2.3 on my xbox but am trying to upgrade to 2.4.

    I've just downloaded xbmp-2003-10-29.rar and extracted the folders.

    The advice I've been given on xbox scene is;

    "Since you upgrading from such an old version i would suggest you completely delete xbmp and the 0face007 folders from TDATA and UDATA. Then configure your new config.xml and your away"

    Do I completely remove 2.3?, then simply put 2.4 in its place?
    Where are the TDATA and UDATA folders?

    I'm running with 120gb hdd with F:\ partition if that helps anyone

    Any guidence appreciated.

    The way I did it was to extract the files to a floder and then upload this folder onto my xbox overwriting what was already there. I didn't have to delete anything at all

      I've extracted to folder "xbmp-2003-10-29" atm.

      Its doubled up though;

      ie.
      xbmp-2003-10-29 (folder)
      > xbmp-2003-10-29 (folder)

      Before you get to the bookmarks, playlist folders etc...

      ^ I hope that makes sense

      Should I copy as that or just 2nd folder?

      (I can't check where and how xbmp2.3 sits on the xb atm as its being used)

        Just coy the second folder... it's the way you unrarred that's caused the "doubled up" folders to happen.

          Thanks for the replies I've got 2.4 sorted now

          I just deleted 2.3 and put 2.4 where is was and it works fine.

          On another note does anyone know how to replace XBMP skins?
          I've downloaded a couple. Do I just delete existing Media Folder and replace or do I need to put on the new skin.xml as well?

              I've just installed version 2.4 and I can't seem to find any of my movie files stored on the F partition. Does anybody have any solutions for this?

                roobarb - definately yes if like me you struggled with compatibility on several video files. 2.4 plays everything I've tried (I had 40 or so .avi' that wouldn't work on 2.3 and they all run perfectly in 2.4)

                Features wise I'm not sure, a few internet link and new relax like options but nothing that I'll use.

                  To get it to find the videos on your f: drive you need to edit your config file.

                  Open the config.xml with notepad and look for these lines under video:

                  <share>
                  <name>HDD</name>
                  <url>e:\videos</url>
                  <cachesize>8192</cachesize>

                  All you need to do is change it to something like:

                  <share>
                  <name>HDD</name>
                  <url>f:\*folder name*</url>
                  <cachesize>8192</cachesize>
