    Sony Trinitron KV-28FQ75 U for PS2?

The return of the girl useless with hardware P.2!
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I've been looking for a CRT TV to play my PS2 on and so far of the CRTs I've seen go up for sale in my area, this seems the best one.

I found the manual on the Sony site here: http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/420556364X.pdf

From what I read in the manual, the TV will accept RGB scart according to page 21. Is this right?

I've been searching though google search results for things like "PS2 RGB Scart vs Component" for the past few hours and I've been left very confused. It seems like any results from a non .co.uk site have people saying that component is miles better than anything else and any posts on .co.uk sites saying PS2 via RGB scart is the best way to go. Is this just the difference between how things are in the U.S vs how things are here in snowy 'ole U.K?

So should I get ready to buy an RGB scart cable from eBay?

Oh god, I'm useless at this.

    Thanks again guys.

All modern trinitrons accept RGB, so dont worry. Forget about component; the tv wont accept it. Component only looks much better if you go 480p or higher and only a small amount of ps2 games offer this. An rgb lead wont let you do this

Just buy a ps2 rgb lead and away you go!

However 4:3 ratio tvs are better for retro gaming (ie a non-widescreen set) , so i probably wouldnt get that set if i was you

Thank you so much, you've put my mind at ease

Do you happen to know if there is a brand to go for/avoid for RGB leads? Or just get say this, even though it works for PS3 too (maybe I need one that only handles PS2, like maybe the PS3 part will mess the picture up?) http://www.gameseek.co.uk/pd/PS3253h.../#.UP2V4ifZaSo

The two best ps2 rgb leads (the official sony & and the blaze) are now very hard to find.

Go for a cheapie, then look out for any of the above

I managed to get a Blaze knock off (as in it wasn't Blaze, but looked identical) a couple years back from Amazon which seems to my eyes as good as the real thing. FYI, Ms. Nocturne, if you see one in translucent purple with a DVD green screen fix switch it's probably a good 'un.
