Program to edit videos, free if poss

Hi,

I'm looking for a video editing program. To be more specific, I'm ripping things from my DVDs, to ISO or MP4 files, although using Pavtube I can output to just about any format.

However, I end up with the whole movie or episode, when, more often than not, I only want a five minute scene.

Is there a program that would cut the rest of it and let me save what I want as a five-minute MP4 file?

Handbrake will let you pick chapters off the dvd

and handbrake will allow things like audio commentarys and subtitles to
