    Nintendo 64 s-video and xrgb3 problem

Got an issue with JPN Nintendo 64 when using a universal converter to play PAL games on it. The colour is washed out on the right side of the screen. I'm connecting the Nintendo 64 to xrgb3 using s-video. It's fine when playing NTSC games on it, problem only happens when using PAL games and the converter. I've taken a photo to show the problem.

    Any ideas anyone?

The XRGB-3 does not support PAL50 or PAL60, maybe it's able to lock on the signal but able to fulyl decode it. I had a similar problem when I tested it with PS2 PAL games (over component), I would get a signal but the screen was distorted (thought the colours were alright).
If you are not running the latest firmware I'd suggest to try with that but IMO it's more of a not fully understood signal on XRGB's part.

I thought I'd have been alright with PAL games on a NTSC N64 machine with the XRGB-3. I've had no issues with PAL SNES games on US SNES or PAL PS2 games on a modded US PS2.

I only own few PAL games I just didn't want the expense of buying NTSC versions. I've got a JPN Mario 64, I only used the PAL Mario to show the fault.

The XRGB-3 is not a very straightforward machine, it handles each consoles and connection differently. You'll might want to test with a custom NTSC dot clock and AFC levels or with A/D level conversion or even with Dot by Dot, you'll might be able to squeeze a decent picture out of it.
