    Best place to get a laser unit for a PS1 (not psone)

    Any recommends?

    I have a chipped PS1 I need to resurrect.

    Hmm, actually I wonder if the chip has come free. I don't have any games for it, so I burnt one off to see if it was still working after a few years in the loft, but I just got the "insert disc" message. So I've just tried a music CD and it recognises that ok....

    Anyone have any advice? Anyone got an old PS1 disc they no longer need (or that I can post back)?

      PSone has the same laser. Nab a chip PSone and swap the assembly. Job done.
