    new laptop recommendation.

In charge of buying a new laptop for my secretary.
Useless at this stuff. So many choices..

Only needs to be semi-decent machine ideally with office pre-installed.

Looking for specific recommendations or good places to buy from. After a decent warranty and good after care in case of any issues.
Didnt really want to spend over ?300 but can be a little flexible.

    Thanks

Get an intel i5 with at least 4GB of Ram, order from John Lewis and they double the warranty (great cust svce too). If it was me I'd also see if they still stock Win 7 machines. I am a technology tutor & have yet to find anybody that likes, let alone loves win 8?

You'll be hard pushed to get that for ?300 as MS Office take up half the budget! Does the machine need to be added to a domain? If so you'll need Windows 7/8 Professional.

        No, simple stand alone machine

like John Lewis aftercare- not sure need/afford i5 machine tho.

A friend of mine bought an i3 Dell with Windows 7 and 4gb of ram for ?299 last week from Asda Direct? H-Man is right though, office is a fair whack on top unless you can get an older version like 2007 from eBay?

Cheers guys, will have a look on Asda.
Must have an Office cd at work so that would help.
