    Performance dips?

Hello humans, by computer is being a bit of a beard and thus I am looking for some tips.

For example I'll start a game of far cry 3 blood dragon from a cold boot and it's hovering around 55-60fps, I'll log in for another crack later and it's more like 15 - 30 fps. I'm also experiencing similar woe performance from a cold boot now and again. I'm not one to have anything else running in the background. My set up is pretty meaty, 3570k/gtx 670, latest drivers. I've got a massive case I wouldn't think over heating would be a major player.

    Any ideas?

Maybe Far Cry is running on one or two cores on your second run as the others are dealing with background crap?

I'll also add my performance went to **** big time when my hdd was on it's way out.

I reckon it could just be this game, just tested it, then BF3 & Red orchestra 2 which are both locking 60fps. Gayballs as its reasonable fun.
