    Sharing PS3 saves between consoles

I've been wondering about picking up another PS3 or my bedroom, but it appears that sharing game saves between consoles is ridiculously awkward!

I believe the save files are protected (WHY?!), so you can't just copy the game to a USB stick and move it to a different console. Playstation Plus seemed like a good option, allowing you to upload/download saves to the server, but apparently after uploading, you have to wait for 24 hours before you can download something again (another WHY?!).

I can't understand why this would be so difficult, I'm currently thinking the most hassle free option is to buy another power cable and HDMI cable and move my console each time! I'm suddenly finding myself longing for the days of a memory card!

Any have any experience of this, or know of an easy solution?

Some game saves are locked but most aren't. Which game in particular?

Cant you upload them to your 'cloud' which you have loads of room

And on the other one just download it

It's what I did with GOW ascension after I platinum'd it on my PS3 up in the bedroom

I'm not talking about a particular game, I'd just generally like the option to be able to (for example) be playing a game in my living room, then continue to play in my bedroom later in the evening.

If not all games are protected, that might not be such a big issue then. I know the cloud thing works to transfer saves, though you supposedly have to wait 24 hours before you can download something you uploaded. Although I've just found a big thread here http://community.us.playstation.com/.../td-p/31007486 which suggests the 24 hours is only for protected save files (Sony's FAQ didn't mention that!)

The souls games are both protected. Never come across any other.

From what I remember, Deus Ex, both Dead Islands, Armored Core V, both King of Fighters & Vanquish do too, which was a pain as I had 2 PS3's in 2 houses, so if I wanted to continue off at the other house, I'd have to plan ahead.

^^^^ A fine example of a first world problem! Couldn't play on second PS3 in other home horror!

A lot of games lock your multiplayer profile but not your game progress. Tomb Raider, as an example.
