I've given the article a very quick read, and at a first glance the information there is not 100% correct...or better, they envision a future where every software must go through the MS Store to get in line with Win8's interface, or that blockbuster titles (streaming videos as well as videogames) will be rejected because outside MS' policies.

Can you imagine a future where Steam gets blocked by MS because you can buy violent games from it? Or, in the case that Steam gets shafted in favor of the MS Store, that developers will create only PG-rated games to have them complying with MS policies? This will spell the death of the PC as a gaming platform, the death of AMD and nVidia, and the whole high-end market for PC parts. Not to mention that MS will quickly lose market share to other operating systems with less restrictions.

Plus, the Store is perfectly avoidable, you don't need to register a MS account to use Win8 or to install applications; you can even install Skype without going through the store, and I seriously doubt the situation will change anytime soon.

I'm typing this on Windows 8, on my brother's laptop. If it weren't for the fact he'd kill me, I'd smash it to pieces. This is garbage.

Hw the **** do you unlock files when inside a folder? They keep auto-arranging. I spent 10 minutes unable to find a way to stop this.

I organise all my files in clusters, as if in a physical space. I can't deal with this auto-arranging crap.

Also, what the hell did they do to MS Word?!

I think I will be forced to buy a refurbished XP machine and just hope it doesn't break.

The manner in which you speak makes it seem as if you know what you're talking about but your word selection leads me to believe otherwise.

If you want to use XP then just install XP on a modern machine.

You mean open the WinExplorer, go to a directory (or directly on the desktop) and place some files in the top left side of the window, others in the centre and others somewhere else? If you're looking for something like that, on the desktop right click on a empty space Show->check or uncheck the options in the second group (right now I'm on the Italian Win7 desktop and the translation will be off). Inside a directory...I don't know, I'm not able to do on virtualised XP.

That really made me chuckle in your Kickstarter update!

I'm sure by the end of your rant some people were thinking "who the hell have I funded?!"

Yeah, I saw that shot in the KS update and I was like "Sheesh, he organises more oddly than me on my desktop!"

I wouldn't say lots about Quintet, yet (two main staff from Terranigma). Since that update though I've been offered a further contact by a colleague, so it should grow nicely.

The structure in the south I call "the pyramid", while to the east is "the fortress". It's a real thing apparently. It's called "spatial file management".
