2x PlayTV for multi-channel recording?

I've always wondered the folowing: if you have two playtv units for PS3 does it allow you to record more channels at once? A la the dual tuner in Sky+?

I also read somewhere that even with one of them you can record one and watch another (but not record two) – is that true? I'm not able to test with mine at the moment.

How could it work? You can't install the software twice, and it doesn't have the functionality to switch between two tuners. You can record something, but watch something else. Any Freeview box can do that though.
