Worsening problem with Panasonic Viera TX-P42G20B Plasma

Posted this on AVS but no replay as yet...

My Panny G20 is exhibiting some strange issues around very light gradations (especially light blue). The original post containing the image is here:

I first noticed the issue a few months ago, but it's getting more frequent. I have done a home calibration using the AVS HD 709 disc, and noticed a great improvement overall, but this issue didn't present itself then. I'm using a USA PS3 connected via HDMI. I have tried all four HDMI ports on the TV, and different HDMI cables as well, all with the same result.

Can anyone offer any advice regarding this issue? I'm worried it will continue to get worse.

As the poster said on AVS, definitely a vlitage issue, whether it the Voltage Sustain as he says I am not sure.

I can't remember the user menu in that set, but if you find a copy of the service menu layout (usually a flow chart) and post it I will tell you what to try.

Cheers for the reply. OK, here is what the service menu looks like. Very cautious about adjusting anything here...!

I mean, the written service manual will have a layout for that screen showing what every item in the menu is.
Under ADJUST you will have lots to alter, and again under OPTION and VSUS etc.
There will be certain things that are worth changing.

Pioneers give that effect when the V_Sus is set too low, however, they also give it when other voltages are low.

Go into V_Sus though and up the voltage and see what happens. Just remember what it was on so you can go back if needed.

I've never seen that before. Adjusting VSUS might help.

Basically in the service mode, you use the 1 and 2 keys to navigate sections, 3 and 4 to navigate subcategories, and the OK button to enter.

One you get into service mode, press RED, then press 1 until you get to "VSUS". Hit ENTER and the screen should turn white. I forget how you actually switch from Low<->High and vice versa though.

Cheers for the replies. Lyris, I can get to the white screen, but can't see what to do next! None of the remote buttons appear to do anything >.<

Dang. The pink noise still appears whether VSUS is set to high or low. I guess I'll just have to live with it. Thanks Lyris and gIzzE for your help.

So several pink noises are visible remarkably?

Sorry, their English is much better than my Japanese! That's a pain.
