    Open Office Alternatives

I'm looking at the open office alternatives and it seems to boil down to three although I'll happily consider others:-

    Apache
    Libre
    Oxygen

    Anyone here have any opinions?

I'm swayed by Oxygen because it is described as an enhanced version of Apache with some possibly useful extras neither of the other two include.

I like libreoffice but I've not tried the other two.

I'd go with Libre, among the three it seems to have the better Office XML (docx, xlsx, etc) interpreter, if that matters to you. IMO, if take as standalone suites, they're pretty much the same.

LibreOffice is actually the successor to OpenOffice. When OpenOffice was sold to Apache, most of the developers forked the project and made LibreOffice from the same source code. As a result, OpenOffice is now irrelevant because LibreOffice gets all the updates.

Looks like Libre then. Thanks for the feedback.
