60htz pal games sticky

I am about to get a ps2 and although i will have it modded because I have already bought some ntsc games i would like to know what pal games have a 60htz mode or are fully optimised and what ones are bad.

this could be applied to all consoles. I know there is the definitive verison thread but this would be just for the screen modes rather than boxes, extras, changes to gameplay etc.

what do you all think?

www.eurogamer.net are good for telling you what the PAL version is like and have a little box at the bottom for 60Hz, WideScreen and Surround Sound.

I think there used to be a semi-official thread in the PAL forum detailing which games had 60hz modes.

Perhaps have a quick search and ressurect it.

It seems to me that such a thread would be an excellent resource.

I'm pretty much an NTSC-only guy myself these days, but I still have a PAL PS2 ~ it'd be good to know when and where I could possibly 'support the local market'...

I'd been holding off getting this because I was under the impression it was 50Hz only. Looks like I may pick this up after all (currently in 2 for ?30 offer at Game).

Most Sega-developed/published games have 60Hz modes for the PAL PS2..

I bought this primarily because it was too cheap to pass up as well , wasn't expecting much optimisation-wise, even ~ but I was very pleasantly surprised on boot-up ...

See this is what I wanted to know. I have mixed my consoles in the past: US Snes, Pal n64 (dont ask!) Pal DC but loads of japanese games and a US GC, now after amassing some PS2 games, a mix of pal (ICO and vf4 evo which I knew was 60htz) and japanese and us games I was wondering what newer pal games and older ones were as they may be easier to tracvk down as I am bit late to the ps2 fun! Great stuff guys, keep it up! (and this shoukd be a sticky, maybe.....)

All of Sega's games with the exception of Virtua Cop Elite Edition and the possible one of Sega Bass Fishing Duel have 60Hz modes, that means that all of the following are good:

Rez
Ecco the Dolphin
Space Channel 5
Space Channel 5 part 2
NFL2K3
NBA2K3
Virtua Tennis 2
F355
Virtua Fighter 4
Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution

The majority of Capcom's games post Devil May Cry also have 60Hz modes (after all the stick they received for the PAL conversion). I'm not sure which games do have 60Hz modes although I know Maximo, DMC2 and Chaos Legion do have it.
