Gameboy advance cartridge, Help!

I have been experiencing problems with a couple of my carts for the GBA. Mario advance 2 is not holding my saves, as soon as i save and then turn it off, next time i come to play all the files say 'new.' Is it something i am doing wrong? This also happens with Mario kart super circuit. All my others are fine, has anyone else experienced this? Please help, doing 50cc races over again to get the trophies is quite annoyong. ft:

Cartridges either have two types of memory, battery backed up and flash. It's more then likely that MA2 has battery backed up memory and the battery is flat or dead. You can either contact Nintendo UK (see leaflets and manuals for phone numbers) if it's a UK cartridge otherwise you will need to find someone to open up the cart and replace the battery.
