where to get PS2 Motherboard Layouts?

I have a broken UK PS2 model SCPH-30003, its working fine except that the Joypad port 1 has stopped working, I think that the Transistor or whatever that sends the power to the pad has blown, I think I could fix the problem myself if I could get a Motherboard layout, with a list of what does what, anyone know of any websites that have anything like this??

its more likely to be the ribbon cable hooking up the controller ports to the main board, though that would be unusual if your ps2 has never been opened.

Don't know anywhere carrying schematics, but there are lots of messiah instructions floating about with pics.

Would it not have inline fuses, akin to those found in the DC? I'm sure I've read on here about blown fuses being the "argh, my DC pad ain't working" solution.

There could be, but I've not read about anyone ever replacing an internal fuse to fix bust controllers on a ps2, so I assumed there wasn't one.

ps2 internal fuses (don't appear to be controller specific):

It could be a dry joint on the controller socket too, it would be very strange that power to only one controller port had blown somehow.

Thats why I figured it would be a dodgy ribbon cable problem.

No indeed, but I'd bet this mug of tea that I've heard people complain of knackered ports, since yanking out a controller whilst on. Pure conjecture on my part.

It's the wierdest thing, but when I switch the machine on after leaving it to rest for a while the controller will work for a short time then it will stop responding, if I load a game up the pad will Rumble but non of the buttons will work, rendering the machine useless, Joypad port 2 works fine. I've opened up the machine and there is'nt anything visually wrong when looking at the machine with a magnifine glass.

Its a gutting thing to break, becouse now a good condition, working machine is useless.

does sound like a dry joint/ribbon cable problem.

try freshening up all the solder points that connect conport 1 to it's pcb.
