    5.1 / 7.1 - Headphone and setup recomendations

    Hi all,

So I love watching films, don't we all I've got quite a large Bluray collection mounting and the thing is, I've never really experienced a good sound setup. I use headphones more than ever, I don't actually have speakers connected to my PC, I just use cans. I currently have a pair of Beyderdynamic DT 770 pros and Senheiser Momentums. I find that I use the Beyers more, as I find them more cosy when watching films.

I currently use my PS4 for bluray, was using a PS3 before. Sound just comes out of the telle.

I would like to improve my experience, and get a surround sound headphone, however I have no idea what is good and what works really well.
I don't want to put a price range up just yet, id like to find out what is actually decent.

Also, if I was to venture away from the PS4 and get a bluray drive and decent sound card for surround sound experience, what should I be looking at here.
If there are decent 5.1 or 7.1 headphones that work with the PS4 for films, I would love to know.

Oh and if there is a Wireless equivalent, that would be immense!

    Many thanks,
    Daniel.

I have owned Sony MDR ds6500 for around 6 months now and really like them. They comfortable and light enough for long use and the pseudo surround is quite effective.

I'd buy a secondhand slimline Yamaha amp like this:

Tell the bloke to keep the speakers and hook it up optical from the PS4 to use the Silent Cinema feature with your favourite hifi headphones. Works for me with my PS3 and 360.

If you can push your budget out a bit I was in the same boat as you in a way. I decided to keep my normal 2.0 speaker setup but invest in a better amp, the Denon AVR-E300. I then use my V Moda M80's for watching movies and couldn't be happier.

Those Sony Headphones above also got some good feedback on avsforum I think.
